Devlog: The March Towards Progress


Hey everyone! As I mentioned in my last devlog, I am continuing development on DIRT EMPIRE.

My band (Fight Back MTN) is taking a break from practicing and playing shows until October, due to our drummer's wife having a kid, so I'll have more time to work on the game. I am hoping to finish the game this year, and even better would be before October. 

I am working on the final "Passage of Time" session now. If you played Trash Planet or the demo I put up of Dirt Empire, you know what that means. The last Passage of Time is a big one, with 15 different unique actions the player can take. So far, as of last night, I have designed 3 of the 15, so definitely making some headway. As long as I am able to finish 1 or 2 every couple days, it will be done quickly. 

I want to thank everyone who left a nice comment, they really raised my spirits going into this final leg of development. 

As for game promotion, does anyone have any good ideas on that front? I used to do game promo on RPG Maker dot Net, RIP, and  the website formerly known as "Twitter," also RIP.  I guess I could make a Tumblr account for the game or something? 

I made an Instagram, but I'm not sure if there's even like, an indie game dev scene on there. Just wondering your thoughts if you have any on the subject of promoting the game. 

At the end of the day I really just want to finish the game, so that I can start learning Game Maker as a software for developing instead of RPG Maker VX Ace. Or maybe I could step up to RPG Maker MV or whatever the new one is that has Switch 2 capabilities. I would like to learn GameMaker though.
